It was great working with the Limited team and meeting such a wonderful designer as Jodi. I’ll be working on a few more shows with The Limited in Miami in a couple of weeks.  It will be fun…Check out the pics below.

Last night New York fashion designer Jodi Arnold unveiled her stunning new fall collection at the Limited at Dadeland Mall in Miami. The Limited was closed to the public at 5:30 in preparation for the fabulous private fashion soirée sponsored by Ocean Drive Magazine. Jodi Arnold was joined on stage by the Limited’s Vice President of Design Elliot Staples to discuss their collaboration for this new line. The fall collection is Ms. Arnold’s second “Jodi Arnold for the limited” collection and her visit to Miami was part of a six city tour. This line is all about personal success and the successful confident woman.
“Every day is another day to make a first impression.” said Mr. Staples while introducing the new collection. Read more

Aveda Institute: Gallery Place Washington, DC

Today I had the absolute pleasure of speaking to the students of Aveda Institute in Georgetown DC. Not knowing what to expect, as this would be my first speaking engagement, the class and the entire staff welcomed me graciously. I can not express how appreciative I am to have been presented with this opportunity. One of the directors, Carolyn Berry gave me a sweet introduction. I talk a bit on my background and proceeded to speak on my experiences working on set and what a photographer maybe looking for from a makeup artist.

We shared a few funny moments and I learned a few things about myself from these great future makeup artist and hairstylist.  So thankful!

God has been moving me in directions I never thought possible. I will embrace every step of the way because it is the destiny he has chosen for me. I’m ready to take it on! Special thanks to Carolyn, Brittany and the entire staff of Aveda.

BET Leading Women Summit and My Black is Beautiful

Debra Lee, Raven Symone, and Tatyana Ali were just some of the powerful African American women that came together this week for the BET Leading Women’s Defined Summit. Proctor & Gamble’s My black is beautiful, celebrates the diverse collective beauty of African-American women and encourages black women to define and promote our own beauty standard. MBIB sponsored a beauty suite for invited guest to relax and get glammed up with facials, makeup applications, hair styling, nail styling, and soothing massages. We used CoverGirl Queen Collection, Pantene, and Olay products to apply and educate on the efficacy and dedication of the brand. Some of my favorite products were the cream compact foundations and the ‘Toast of the town’ lipstick (there will be a post highlighting those products up next).

Following the summit, MBIB opened its Live tour at the Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC for the first time. Consumers we’re able to experience the same special treatments of the Leading Women Defined suite and those of the previously visited markets. This was a great event for me to be a part of and I enjoyed every moment. I had the pleasure of doing the makeup for actress Garcelle Beauvais, editor Jamie Foster Brown, Exec VP Jeanine Liburd and legendary female Hip Hop Artist MC Lyte.
