BET Leading Women Summit and My Black is Beautiful

Debra Lee, Raven Symone, and Tatyana Ali were just some of the powerful African American women that came together this week for the BET Leading Women’s Defined Summit. Proctor & Gamble’s My black is beautiful, celebrates the diverse collective beauty of African-American women and encourages black women to define and promote our own beauty standard. MBIB sponsored a beauty suite for invited guest to relax and get glammed up with facials, makeup applications, hair styling, nail styling, and soothing massages. We used CoverGirl Queen Collection, Pantene, and Olay products to apply and educate on the efficacy and dedication of the brand. Some of my favorite products were the cream compact foundations and the ‘Toast of the town’ lipstick (there will be a post highlighting those products up next).

MC Lyte Makeup by Margoux Le Roux

Following the summit, MBIB opened its Live tour at the Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC for the first time. Consumers we’re able to experience the same special treatments of the Leading Women Defined suite and those of the previously visited markets. This was a great event for me to be a part of and I enjoyed every moment. I had the pleasure of doing the makeup for actress Garcelle Beauvais, editor Jamie Foster Brown, Exec VP Jeanine Liburd and legendary female Hip Hop Artist MC Lyte.

Stevie Boi, Trina and Rosa Acosta NYFW Party

Last night we attended the SB Shades party at the Soho Grand Hotel in New York.  Special guest Trina ‘RockStarr’ and Rosa Acosta stopped through to show Stevie some love on the launch of his new line “Fallen Angel”.

The party was shut down around 12:30am but that didn’t stop the beautiful Trina. She had another event at Djumbala in Brooklyn and we went over to see her perform 5 Star Chic.

Special shout out to Sobe Liz Jones www.myspace.com/sobe3liz or on twitter as @SobeLiz718 and Big O of Pure Playazz.

Q&A with Chrisette Michele

On the Go[ux] Tell us about your latest album titled ?Epiphany? that was released May 5th, 2009?

CM: I am far more vulnerable on this album than my first. I wrote every song on my first album, but this was a different experience because Ne-Yo wrote alot for me. He was able to bring everything I?ve experienced to life. All the songs on the album convey my emotions and I?m sharing more of my personal experiences in love.

On the Go[ux]: Twitter Style? Define Chrisette Michelle in 140 characters or less?

CM: Fun, Unpredictable, Loving with a huge appreciation for life, Love, Beauty and Art!

On the Go[ux]: You are a beautiful woman with great skin, what is your personal daily beauty routine?

CM: Hmm.. I would say moisturizing is key for me! Dry Skin never looks good no matter how much you try to conceal it!

On the Go[ux]: If you could pick one must have beauty product that you can?t leave the house without, what would that be?

I?m torn between mascara and gloss! I think Mascara is a must its does so much and accentuates natural beauty.

On the Go[ux] What?s up next for Ms. Chrisette Michele.

Along with taking my music to new heights, I love acting. I?m actually work ing with a coach now and I?m looking forward to where that takes me.

I?m currently on tour with Maxwell and that is going amazing! He actually sent me a bouquet of white roses the first night of the tour; he?s so sweet.

I?m also going to be touring in Europe. And stay tuned to me on twitter @epiphanygirl.

Nicki Minaj: OMG My Pink Nouveau lipstick”

Nicki Minaj talks beauty, music and being around her Big brothers of Young Money. Currently negotiating her label deal but an album is expected out later this year. Tracks like Beam me up Scotty featuring Wayne along with ’best I ever had’ remix with Drake will be on the mixtape. Embracing a new sexy and classy image, Nicki talks Make-up and her favorite beauty product.

On the Go[ux]: What?s it like being the lady of the bunch?working with your big brothers?

Nicki: I never had a big family, just my older brother, so with the guys around itss like the family atmosphere. It’s a good thing. Itss such a comfortable situation. When we’re recording together it’s just a real fun atmosphere.

On the Go[ux]: As you are hitting these show’s what’s your make-up routine:

Nicki: I’m the type of chick that if I don’t have an event, then I don’t want to wear make-up. I have very sensitive skin and everything dries my face out. I use Black Soap and get facials at least twice a month now to prevent breakouts from happening every other day.

On the Go[ux]: Since you are just venturing into the whole make-up deal what is one product you can’t live without?

Nicki: Oh my gosh, my Pink Nouveau Lipstick from MAC, If I don’t have that, I’d probably shoot myself and I am not lying lol
