DC: Fashion’s Night Out – Georgetown

Sept 10. 2010 6-11pm

Fashion’s Night Out is back again! Last year I was in New York when it kicked off and I had an absolute blast. It was a huge fashion party, lots of style, celebs and trend setters in a much more fun setting. With FNO being celebrated in many major cities around the globe, including Washington DC, I decided to check out what my hometown is presenting this year.  I’ll be in Georgetown enjoying the sales and mingling with the stylish folks of the city.  Check out http://www.fashionsnightoutgeorgetowndc.com/events.html for a list of events to attend in the Georgetown area. See you then!

Jodi Arnold and The Limited – Miami

Check out this great recap of Jodi Arnold’s Launch for The Limited. This review was by  Sinthyia Darkness of the Miami High Fashion Examiner. It was great working with the Limited team and meeting such a wonderful designer as Jodi. I’ll be working on a few more shows with The Limited in Miami in a couple of weeks.  It will be fun…Check out the pics below.

Stylist: Margoux Le Roux, Nicole PeGlow, Robert Cartwright

Last night New York fashion designer Jodi Arnold unveiled her stunning new fall collection at the Limited at Dadeland Mall in Miami. The Limited was closed to the public at 5:30 in preparation for the fabulous private fashion soirée sponsored by Ocean Drive Magazine. Jodi Arnold was joined on stage by the Limited’s Vice President of Design Elliot Staples to discuss their collaboration for this new line. The fall collection is Ms. Arnold’s second “Jodi Arnold for the limited” collection and her visit to Miami was part of a six city tour. This line is all about personal success and the successful confident woman.
“Every day is another day to make a first impression.” said Mr. Staples while introducing the new collection. Read more

Gagalicious. I just saw the telephone video and the makeup was done by Mr. Billy B makeup artist (I heart him) it was so awesome. It reminded me of a shoot I worked on for Stevie Boi shades with a similar strong brow and vibrant and intense lip.  Check it out. Hotness! Here are some pics I got from http://makeupforlife.net

Recap Pink Jams!

Last night I worked on an amazing show Pink Fashion Rocks(www.pinkjamsdc.com), to benefit the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer research.  The turn out was amazing! My assistant Marlon and mentee Valerie Tilghman rocked it out!

The makeup looks were soft smoked eyes with various shades of pink lips. The looks were decided upon by each designer for their models.

Our models were breast cancer survivors, which made the event even more awesome to be a part of.

Here is my favorite look of the evening: Dress Betsey Johnson, Model Naya, Makeup Margoux Le Roux, Hair Ted Gibson DC team.

Stevie Boi, Trina and Rosa Acosta NYFW Party

Last night we attended the SB Shades party at the Soho Grand Hotel in New York.  Special guest Trina ‘RockStarr’ and Rosa Acosta stopped through to show Stevie some love on the launch of his new line “Fallen Angel”.

The party was shut down around 12:30am but that didn’t stop the beautiful Trina. She had another event at Djumbala in Brooklyn and we went over to see her perform 5 Star Chic.

Special shout out to Sobe Liz Jones www.myspace.com/sobe3liz or on twitter as @SobeLiz718 and Big O of Pure Playazz.

Monique Lhuellier Fall 2010: Nicole Murphy and the Look

Monique Lhuellier Fall Collection was our first show at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week tents. Lhuellier drew inspiration for the collection from “Chinese Warrior and military suits. Strong silhouettes with a tough, chic edge. Long sleeves, high necks, strong shoulders with short skirts. Lots of leg … they look almost soldier like.” (- Monique Lhuellier in official program)

The hair and makeup look included a braided top knot, bare skin and red lips. Some of which were seen heavily on the runways. Check out the pics below.

Nicole Murphy, was spotted leaving looking fab. We spoke briefly and she shared that she enjoyed the show and her favorite piece of the collection were “definitely the Gowns. They’re beautiful!”

Korto Momolu Fall 2010 Fashion Week Show

My afternoon on Monday was delighted in Designer Korto Momolu’s New York Fashion Week show. We arrived at the Union Square Ballroom to a full house of fashionistas ready to see Korto’s 2010 Fall presentation. The collection was natural and had subtle movements in colours orange and brown. The funky fitted dresses, knit sweaters with elaborate neck and sleeves we’re the stars of the show. My favorite pieces of the collection was the knit hooded sweater and the Handbags. Her handbags and jewelry which are now available at Dillards are beautiful and no doubt will make a statement.

The makeup sponsor for the show was Poloris Cosmetics. Poloris key makeup artist and owner Christina Romeo shared with me the look of the night.

Luminous skin, bold faux lashes and nude lips. The cosmetics are hand made and were specifically designed for the show.

Check out some other pics below of the guest:
