Debra Lee, Raven Symone, and Tatyana Ali were just some of the powerful African American women that came together this week for the BET Leading Women’s Defined Summit. Proctor & Gamble’s My black is beautiful, celebrates the diverse collective beauty of African-American women and encourages black women to define and promote our own beauty standard. MBIB sponsored a beauty suite for invited guest to relax and get glammed up with facials, makeup applications, hair styling, nail styling, and soothing massages. We used CoverGirl Queen Collection, Pantene, and Olay products to apply and educate on the efficacy and dedication of the brand. Some of my favorite products were the cream compact foundations and the ‘Toast of the town’ lipstick (there will be a post highlighting those products up next).
Following the summit, MBIB opened its Live tour at the Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC for the first time. Consumers we’re able to experience the same special treatments of the Leading Women Defined suite and those of the previously visited markets. This was a great event for me to be a part of and I enjoyed every moment. I had the pleasure of doing the makeup for actress Garcelle Beauvais, editor Jamie Foster Brown, Exec VP Jeanine Liburd and legendary female Hip Hop Artist MC Lyte.
